Stunning Acoustic Glass (ACG-993)
Acoustic Glass is manufactured with a special vinyl interlayer that offers better sound control than traditional polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers. The sound control rating of glass is expressed as a weighted sound reduction index (Rw) measured in decibels (dB).
ACOUSTIC GLASS DEFINED
Acoustic Glass consists of two or more sheets of glass, bonded together with one or more acoustic interlayers: Each pane of glass in a noise reduction window or door is laminated with a layer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), forming a strong hydrocarbon bond with the glazing unit, this improves acoustic attenuation by reducing the elasticity of the glass and providing an extra layer of noise reduction and dampening, weakening the sound as it travels through the glass.
THE BENEFITS OF ACOUSTIC GLASS
Acoustic Glass considerably reduces outside noise, especially near busy areas such as motorways, train lines and airports. When used in overhead or roof glazing, noise reduction window also provides insulation from rain impact noise. It can be used for interior sound insulation needs, such as office partitions and meeting rooms.
In addition, acoustic laminated glazing dramatically increases the strength of the glazing providing additional security as well as improved energy efficiency.
At Evolution we offer an acoustic glass option for both our Storm and Flush window ranges, which can reduce the external noise levels by up to 30%. If you value a peaceful life from external noise, this option is definitely worth considering.
